Jacob van Schuppen

Jacob van shed (born 26 January 1670 in Fontainebleau; † 29 January 1751 in Vienna) was a court painter at the imperial court in Vienna.

He was appointed in 1716 to Vienna, and in 1726 by Emperor Charles VI. Director of the " k.k. Hofakademie of painters, Sculptors and Architects ' appointed, he reorganized the first fundamental. After the death of Emperor Charles VI. the support of the court for the academy was always lower in 1740, so they had to move to van shed private home and the classroom was then adjusted. A year before death shed the Art Academy of supervision of the new Oberhof building director Adam Philipp Losy of Losinthal was assumed.

Among the most important works van shed include portraits and altarpieces in the Church of St. Charles and the Salesianerinnenkirche and ceiling painting in the Eroica Hall of the Palais Lobkowitz Dietrich stone.
