Jacques Dalbon, Seigneur de Saint Andre

Jacques d' Albon, seigneur de Saint -André, Marquis de Fronsac (* 1505, † December 19, 1562 at the battle of Dreux ) was Marshal of France, who distinguished himself in the wars against the Spaniards, and in the wars of religion.

Life

After he had distinguished himself in the wars against Spain, he was appointed Marshal of France and Governor of Lyon by French King Henry II in 1547.

In 1557 it was captured in Saint -Quentin, however, been released in time to take part in the negotiations that led to the Peace of Cateau- Cambrésis between King Henry II and King Philip II in 1559.

In April 1561 he formed a triumvirate with Anne de Montmorency and François de Lorraine, duc de Guise against the Huguenots and the reigning Queen Catherine de Medici. He led thereby cause the outbreak of the wars of religion.

He fell in 1562 at the battle of Dreux.
