Jacques de Bourbon Busset

Jacques de Bourbon Busset, actually Robert Jacques Louis Marie de Bourbon, Comte de Busset (* April 27, 1912 in Paris, † May 7, 2001 ) was a French writer and diplomat.

Life

Bourbon Busset was a descendant of the Barons de Busset; with the House of Bourbon, he was patrilinearitär connected. His father was Jacques de Bourbon Busset, his mother Guillemette de Colbert - Chabanair.

His schooling completed Bourbon Busset at the Lycée Henri IV and moved in 1932 to the ENS his hometown. Then he got a job at the State Department, where he worked during the entire Second World War.

From the German occupiers, he was arrested and deported to Germany. General Charles de Gaulle became aware of him through his successful escape. In August 1944, he called Bourbon Busset President of the French Red Cross. During this time he married Laurence Ball Ande († 1984) and had a son with her, Charles de Bourbon Busset (* 1945).

1948 brought Robert Schuman Bourbon Busset in his cabinet. Later between 1956 to 1965, he served as mayor of Ballancourt -sur- Essonne, Essonne département. Near there is at Balla Court and the Château de Saussay where the family today is domiciled.

1981 convened the Académie française Bourbon Busset as a member. On July 4, he was chosen as successor to the late writer Maurice Genevoix on the armchair 34.

Eleven days after his 89th birthday Jacques de Bourbon Busset died on 7 May 2001 in Paris.
