Jacques Jasmin

Jacques or Jacquou Jasmin (* as Jacques Boé March 6, 1798 in Agen, † October 4, 1864 in Agen ) was an Occitan poet.

Jasmine was a barber and operating this craft even then, as he had acquired a name through his poetic productions and even after his appointment as Knight of the Legion of Honour and his coronation as Maître ès jeux floraux ( 5000 Francesco honorarium ) by the Académie française.

He wore his poems before in Occitan with great mimic talent and was thus the first cities, including Paris at the imperial court, large ovation. Above all, he managed a half- pathetic, half- joking epic, and folksy friendly and childlike cheerful nature gave his poetry a great charm.
