Jacques Ledoux

Jacques Ledoux ( * 1921, † June 6, 1988 in Warsaw) was a Belgian film historian, conservator and archivist.

Jacques Ledoux was thrilled since early childhood from the film and worked from 1941 at the Cinémathèque royale de Belgique, which was founded in 1938 by Pierre Vermeilen, Henri Storck and André THIRIFAYS. From 1948 he worked as curator and later also to the expansion of the Cinémathèque and was involved in the restoration of important films like Napoleon by Abel Gance (1927 ) involved. In 1961 he was appointed Secretary General of the Fédération Internationale des Archives du Film; this position he held until 1977. In 1962, he was the founder of the Musée du cinéma de Bruxelles. Ledoux organized the Experimental Film Festival in Knokke and allowed François Truffaut the sighting of Alfred Hitchcock films in preparing his legendary interviews with the director. Jacques Ledoux 1962 had an appearance in the short film on the edge of the taxiway (La Jetée ) by Chris Marker.
