Jacques Linard

Jacques Linard (* 1597, † 1645) was a French painter. Special Linard gained fame through his still lifes.

Life

Linard was baptized on September 6th, 1597 at Saint -Remy de Troyes. His father was a painter Jehan Linard, of which, however, no work has survived, his mother's name was Anne Thays. His sister Anne married Claude Baudesson. Their son Nicolas Baudesson was also still-life painter. 1629 Jacques Linard was in Paris, where he asked his family members for permission to marry. On March 29, 1626, he signed a marriage contract with Marguerite Tréhoire, daughter of the painter Romain Tréhoire. On May 17, 1631 Jacques Linard and Marguerite Tréhoire signed an agreement for the mutual gift ( donation mutuelle ), Linard was in it for the first time as a painter and royal valet called ( peintre et valet de chambre du roi ), but he could in this service before 1631 be called. On September 12, 1645 Jacques Linard was buried in the church of Saint- Nicolas-des -Champs in Paris.
