Jahon Qurbonov

Dschachan Kurbanov ( born February 12, 1986 in Leninobod; Today: Khujand ) is a boxer from Tajikistan. Kurbanov was a participant of the Olympic Games in 2008 and 2012 and bronze medalist of the Asian Games 2010.

Career

Dschachan Kurbanov first appeared in 2005 in the international Boxgeschehen amateur in appearance, when he was in Ho Chi Minh City was 19 years with a win over Cho Deok Jin from South Korea Asian champion at middleweight.

In 2007 he competed at the Asian Championships in Ulaanbaatar a weight class higher, light heavyweight, and lost there in the quarterfinals against Zhang Xiaoping of China on points. He got away with it on the 5th Place. At the World Championships the same year in Chicago, he was victorious in his first fight against Luis Gonzalez of Venezuela on points, but was defeated in his next fight against Yerkabulan Schindijew from Kazakhstan by disqualification in the 4th round. With the losers of this round, he finished shared the 17th place.

Strongly improved Dschachan Kurbanov was the first Asian qualifying tournament for the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008 in Bangkok. He defeated there Song Hak -Sung of South Korea by demolition in the 3rd round, then won over Chingiz Borbaschew from Kyrgyzstan on points and also scored on Zhang Xiaoping, against whom he had lost at the 2007 World Cup, a demolition victory in the third round. He fought his eligibility for the Olympic Games in Beijing.

In Beijing, he had an excellent start, as he suggested in his first fight sensationally the 2007 World Champion Abbo Atoyew from Uzbekistan on points and so threw this out of the competition. Then he defeated Mario Sivolja from Croatia on points (8:1). In the quarterfinals, but was disqualified in the fight against Yerkabulan Schinalijew from Kazakhstan in the 3rd round, which he resigned and came to 5th place.

In December 2008 he won the World Cup in Moscow the 3rd place. He suggested doing Nikolajy Grisunins from Latvia on points and lost the semi-final against world champions Abbo Atoyew by points, with equal scores of 9:9 had to be used to determine the winner of the auxiliary points.

2009 failed Kurbomow Heavyweight ( -91 kg ) starting at the World Championships in the preliminary round to Vitalijus Subacius, Lithuania (RSC 3 ). The following year he was successful and won the bronze medal at the Asian Games.

At the Asia Championships 2011 Kurbanov already lost his first fight against Ihab Almatbouli, Jordan (RSC 2 ), and also at the World Championships this year, he did not come the knockout stages, which he lost to Artur Beterbijew, Russia ( AB 2 ), addition.
