Jaime Garza

Jaime Garza ( born September 10, 1959 in Santa Cruz, California ) is a retired American boxer.

The Californians of Mexican origin in 1978 professional bantamweight and won his first 37 fights, 35 by knockout, almost always kurzrundig. He is still regarded as one of the greatest punchers of the lower weight classes. A class higher in the semi- featherweight (sometimes called super bantamweight ), he won the 1983 WBC belt in the second round against the southpaw Bobby Berna. His undefeated challenger Felipe Orozco he knocked out in round two.

But in November 1984, there was by far the most famous fight of his career when he was challenged by Juan Meza. Meza was an above average puncher, but especially a famous slave; he had never been on the ground. His record was 41-5 ( 35) of Garza 40-0 (38). In the very first round stormed Garza on a Meza and knocked him down. No sooner had Meza got up, was a further precipitate.
