Jaime Torres (musician)

Jaime Torres ( born September 21, 1938 in San Miguel de Tucumán ) is an Argentine musician, he plays the charango. He was a student of Mauro Núñez, a Bolivian musician and instrument maker who built his first musical instruments.

Life

In 1964 he participated in the recording of the Misa Criolla by Ariel Ramírez part. In 1965 he performed his first European tour.

In 1974 he took part in the opening show of the football World Cup in Germany. A year later, he organized a meeting of local instrumentalists and in 1980 such a meeting with children. In 1988, he composed the music for the film " La deuda interna ", which received an Academy Award nomination.
