Jalabiro Forest Park

The Jalabiro Forest Park is a forest in the West African nation of Gambia.

Topography

The small approximately 750 meter diameter and 59 hectar forest area is located in the North Bank region in the Central District Baddibu. It is located approximately 4.3 kilometers west from the nearest large town Salikenne.

The Jalabiro Forest Park was established as the other Forest Park in The Gambia on January 1, 1954, but is now within the boundaries of the Bao Bolong Wetland Reserve ( BBWR ), which is recognized as worthy of protection wetland since 1996 under the Ramsar Convention. Although the BBWR has a higher protection status, the Jalabiro Forest Park is still marked on current maps.
