Central Baddibu

Central Baddibu is one of 35 districts - the second highest level of administrative divisions - the West African nation of Gambia. It is one of six districts in the North Bank Region.

According to a calculation by 2013 there live about 13,938 inhabitants, the result of the last published census of 2003 was 14,998.

The name is derived from Baddibu, a former small kingdom.

Population

According to a survey of 1993 ( former census ), the largest population group, the Mandinka with a share of about seven -tenths, followed by the Wolof and the Fula. The distribution in detail: 66.9 % Mandinka, Fula 14.3%, 15.3%, Wolof, Jola 0.2 %, 0.1% Serahule, 1.2% Serer, Aku 0%, 0 % Manjago, 1, 3% Bambara and 0.8% other ethnicities.
