James A. Wright

Assion James Wright ( born August 11, 1902 in Carnegie, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, † November 7, 1963 in Scott, Pennsylvania ) was an American politician. Between 1941 and 1945 he represented the State of Pennsylvania in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

James Wright attended the public schools of his home. In 1923 he graduated from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester (Massachusetts ). After a subsequent law studies at the University of Pittsburgh and his 1927 was admitted to the bar he began to work in Carnegie in this profession. Between 1935 and 1941 he served as deputy district attorney in Allegheny County. Politically, he was a member of the Democratic Party.

In the congressional elections of 1940, Wright was the 34th electoral district of Pennsylvania in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of Matthew A. Dunn on January 3, 1941. After a re-election in the 32nd district of his state, he was able to complete in Congress until January 3, 1945 two legislative sessions. These were overshadowed by the events of the Second World War. In 1944 he was not re-elected.

After the end of his time in the U.S. House of Representatives James Wright practiced as a lawyer again. He died on November 7, 1963 in Scott and was buried in Carnegie.
