James Barnet Fry

James Barnet Fry ( born February 22, 1827 in Carrollton, Illinois, † July 11, 1894 in Newport, Rhode Iceland ) was an American general and military organizer.

Fry was educated at the military academy at West Point and then came 1847 in the army of the United States of America. He participated in the campaign against Mexico and was then a teacher at the West Point Military Academy. During the Civil War, he fought from 1861 to 1863 against the Southern states.

As Generalprofos he remembered 1863, the task to enforce the conscription introduced in 1863 and to create the army of the necessary spare. Fry raised to 1866 1.120.621 recruits from, let bring flags 76 562 refugees and had to end the civil war still 2,254,063 Paid in his military muster rolls. His office was disbanded by the law of 28 August 1866.

James B. Fry died on July 11, 1894 in Newport.
