James Copeland (actor)

James Copeland ( born May 1, 1923 in Helensburgh, Dunbartonshire, † April 2002 in London) was a Scottish actor and the father of actor James Cosmo.

His film debut was in 1953 in the comedy Laxdale Hall. He played up in the 1990s to more than fifty film productions. One of his most famous films is the film drama Once a hero with Alec Guinness in the lead role. As in this film he played at close to exclusively supporting roles and therefore gained no greater notoriety.

In the 1990s, he retired and lived a life away from the media. Therefore, nothing is known about the circumstances of his death in April 2002.
