James Cosmo

James Cosmo ( born 1948 in Clydebank, Scotland ) is a British actor.

Life

James Cosmo is the son of actor James Copeland. He attended the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Dramatic Art and then the Bristol Old Vic Drama School. He can be seen in numerous television productions and movies for nearly four decades. He made his debut in 1969 in the World War I epic Battle of Britain. Thanks to its imposing height and stature, he embodies in his films often warlike characters. He was, for example in 1986 in Russell Mulcahy film Highlander as Angus MacLeod on the side of Christopher Lambert and 1995 in Mel Gibson's Oscar - winning film Braveheart as a Scottish freedom fighter Campbell to see and as Glacius in Wolfgang Petersen's Troy. This typecast pattern is also followed with the cast as Lord Commander Jeor Mormont Cosmos vigil in the adaptation of Game of Thrones. Currently, he is the comedy The Golden Scallop and Songs for Army front of the camera.

For his achievements in front of the camera and its private charitable commitment, he received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the lifts Sunday Mail / McEwan ' s People's Film Festival.

Since May 24, 2000 James Cosmo is married to Annie Harris.
