James Corson

James Corson ( James Hunt "Jim" Corson, born January 14, 1906 in Modesto, California, † 12 November 1981 in Burlingame, California ) was an American discus thrower.

In 1927, he was starting for the College of the Pacific, NCAA champion. In 1928 he qualified as a third in the U.S. Championships for the Olympic Games in Amsterdam. There he won with his personal best of 47.10 m the Bronze medal behind compatriot Bud Houser ( 47.32 m) and the Finn Antero Kivi ( 47.23 m).

From 1972 to 1973 he was interim president of Willamette University.
