James Hastings

James Hastings ( * 1852 in Huntly, Aberdeenshire, † 1922) was a Scottish Presbyterian minister and religious scholar.

Life

He was ordained in 1884 and served as minister of the Free Church, the Reformed Free Church in Scotland.

He was editor of the famous Encyclopaedia of Religion and Ethics, cooperated in a variety of prominent scientists, as well as founder and editor of the Expository Times.
