James Innes-Ker, 7th Duke of Roxburghe

James Henry Robert Innes -Ker, 7th Duke of Roxburghe ( born September 5, 1839 Floors Castle, Kelso, Scotland, † October 23, 1892 ) was a British peer and member of the House of Lords.

Life and career

He inherited the title after the death of his father, James Innes -Ker, 6th Duke of Roxburghe, his mother was Susanna Stephenia Dalbiac. On June 11, 1874, he married Anne Emily Spencer - Churchill, a daughter of John Spencer - Churchill, 7th Duke of Marlborough, and had with her the following children:

  • Lady Margaret Frances Susan Innes -Ker (1875-1930) married on July 25, 1898 James Alexander Orr Ewing ( 1857-1900 )
  • Henry Innes -Ker, 8th Duke of Roxburghe ( 1876-1932 ), whose only son all current Innes Ker men descended.
  • Lady Victoria Alexandrina Innes -Ker (1877-1970) married in London on August 17th, 1901 Charles Hyde Villiers ( 1862-1947 ) and had descendants.
  • Lady Isabel Innes -Ker, later Lady Isabel Wilson (1879-1905) married on June 23, 1904 [ later, Hon ] Guy Greville Wilson ( 1877-1943 ).
  • Lord Alastair Robert Innes -Ker (1880 - ) married in London on October 10, 1907 Anne Breese († October 30, 1959 ), an American heiress, and had two sons and a daughter with her.
  • Lady Evelyn Anne Innes -Ker, later Lady Evelyn Collins (1882-1958) married in London on November 23, 1907 William Fellowes Collins ( 1865-1948 ), a grandson of Baron De Ramsay, and had descendants.
  • Lord Robert Edward Innes -Ker (1885-1958); married his first wife, Josephine Charlotte Cooney in London, announced on October 27, 1920 as a musical and comedy actress by the name of Jose Collins ( 1887-1958 ). The couple divorced in 1935. He then married in London on July 28, 1939 Eleanor Marie Woodhead ( 1887-1958 ). From two marriages no children were born.
