James Kelly (Scottish politician)

James Kelly ( born October 23, 1963 in Glasgow ) is a Scottish politician and member of the Labour Party. He attended Trinity High School in Cambuslang and then acquired at Glasgow College of Technology, a Bachelor's degree in computer science.

In the Scottish Parliament elections in 2007 Kelly was a candidate for the Labour Party in the constituency of Glasgow Rutherglen, his party colleague Janis Hughes won in the previous two elections for themselves, these elections, however, no longer took. Kelly won the direct mandate with a clear lead before the candidate SNP and moved to the sequence in the Scottish parliament. As part of the 2011 reform constituency of Glasgow Rutherglen constituency was abolished and largely replaced by the newly created constituency of Rutherglen. For this Kelly ran for the parliamentary elections in 2011 and succeeded once again to win the direct mandate.
