James Maritato
James Maritato ( born March 12, 1972 in Queens, New York City ), better known by his current ring name Nunzio, is an American professional wrestler. He became known through his work in ECW and WWE.
Career
In 1991, after his debut as a wrestler, Maritato was active in wrestling leagues in Japan and in the Universial Wrestling Federation. In 1995 he was hired by Extreme Championship Wrestling and fought under the name of Damian Stone. Later he was given the name Little Guido and he became a member of the Full Blooded Italians Stables (FBI ) in the already JT Smith, Tracy Smothers and Tommy Rich were. With Tracy Smothers 1997 he was allowed to win the ECW Tag Team Championship, which he could repeat in August 2000 with Tony Luke Mama. They stayed until the bankruptcy of ECW a team, but had the title in December 2000 re-emit. Then Maritato was in various smaller leagues, where he often worked with Mama Luke. Briefly, they were also active in the Ring of Honor before Maritato went to World Wrestling Entertainment in 2002.
WWE
There Maritato was classified as Midcarder (German squad midfielder ) and renamed Nunzio. He received the gimmick of the ( kayfabe ) Cousins Jamie Noble. In December 2002, he then had a feud with Bob Holly and then there was a new edition of the Full Blooded Italians, consisting of Johnny Stamboli, Chuck Palumbo and passed him. The team achieved only moderate success and after Palumbo had to switch to RAW and Stamboli was released, Maritato came back on its own.
In 2005 he participated in the event ECW One Night Stand, a homage - show for the former ECW part. From August Maritato was active mostly in the B -show Velocity. There, he fought a short time with Funaki in a team and allowed the WWE Cruiserweight Championship win. It finally closed it with Vito LoGrasso together as a team and let them feud in the subsequent period with the stable Mexicools. In the event No Mercy 2005 Maritato lost the Cruiserweight Title to Mexicool Member Juventud. In November Maritato could secure the title again, but it lost seven days later again.
Later Maritato and Vito were involved in a feud with Gregory Helms. In May 2006 the team of the two was dissolved. After ECW was broadcast as a weekly show from WWE in June, they sent Maritato there. In ECW, he was back under the name Little Guido active and there has been a renewed comeback of the FBI, at the time, next to him were Tony Mama Luke and Trinity here. After Mama Luke were released in January 2007, Maritato and Trinity competed alone. In April, they changed its name back to Nunzio and separated him from Trinity.
Later he took after he was only used as a jobber, a break and returned in September. Then, it was again only as a jobber use for him. On 8 August 2008 he was dismissed in the wake of a wave of redundancies from the WWE.
Independent and TNA
After his release Maritato performed on various promotions. On 15 November 2008 he won the JAPW Tag Team Championship with Tracy Smothers. They lost the title on December 13, 2008. Besides appearances for Ring of Honor and National Wrestling Alliance, he took with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling on its ECW Hardcore Justice Reunionshow on August 6, 2010 and the three subsequent TV recordings of TNA iMPACT! in part. He met with Tommy Luke and Tracy Smothers again as FBI on.
Return to WWE
26 December 2010 Maritato made his comeback in the WWE, this time as a referee at a house show of RAW due to a lack of ring judges. After further appearances he was seen regularly from 9 May 2011 in this role on TV. On 29 September 2011 he was dismissed for unknown reasons.
