James P. Hoffa

Phillip James "Jim" Hoffa ( born May 19, 1941 in Detroit, Michigan) is since 1999 the president of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters.

Biography

James Phillip Hoffa is the only son of James Riddle Hoffa and Josephine Hoffa (born Poszywak ). He was born three years after his sister Barbara Ann Hoffa (now Barbara Ann Crancer ) on May 19, 1941 in Detroit ( Michigan).

Hoffa is since he was 18 in 1959 member of the " Teamsters " and since 1963 has a degree in Economics from Michigan State University since 1966 and a law degree from the University of Michigan Law School.

Between 1968 and 1993 he acted as counsel for the " Teamsters " and stood in 1996, the election to the President, which he lost to Ron Carey.
