James Thompson (racing driver)

James Thompson ( born April 26, 1974 in Twickenham ) is a British racing driver.

Career

Thompson operational in 1990 karting, a year later, he moved for two seasons in the British Formula Vauxhall Junior. In 1993 he took part in the British Production Car Championship, where he became a master. From 1994 to 2004, 2006 and 2009 he drove in the British Touring Car series, 2002 and 2004, he won this championship. In addition to its local commitment you saw him in 2000 in the DTM as well as 2001, 2003 and 2004 irregular in the European Touring Car Championship. Starting in 2005, Thompson joined continuously in the World Touring Car Championship ( WTCC short ) and reached 2007 in the overall 3rd place in the 2008 season, he also drove in the Danish Touring Car Championship. In 2009, he was the FIA European Touring Car Cup decide for themselves. To kick off the WTCC season Thompson celebrated in March 2013 in Monza (Italy ) his comeback on a Lada Granta. However, he started only in qualifying, as his teammate Alexei Dudukalo transformed both Lada in a collision with Thompson in the first chicane of the circuit in a total loss.
