Jamie Heaslip

James Peter Richard Heaslip (* December 15 1983 in Tiberias, Israel) is an Irish rugby union player who plays on the position of number eight. He is active in the region Leinster and the Irish national team.

Heaslip began his rugby career at Naas RFC, played for the University of Dublin and Clontarf RFC. His debut for Leinster he gave in March 2005 in the Celtic League. Previously, he was voted the best U21 players in the world, after he had reached with the Irish national team in this age group the final of the World Cup and there had to admit defeat to New Zealand. In the fall of 2006, he was first employed in the national team against the Pacific Islanders Lord; he was the thousandth player who aground for Ireland.

Heaslip was nominated for the 2007 World Championships and came in two games for use. With the Six Nations 2008, he was first-team regular and reached Ireland in the 2009 edition of the Grand Slam. It was therefore considered for the tour of the British and Irish Lions to South Africa. With Leinster he also won this year's Heineken Cup.
