Ján Geleta

Ján Geleta (* September 13 1943 in Partizánske, Slovakia ) is a former Slovak football player. He was regarded as persistent, strong -running midfielder.

Career

Ján Geleta began playing football in his hometown at Iskra Partizánske. 1962, the midfielder Dukla Prague has been committed, for whom he played until 1976. With Dukla Geleta was three times Czechoslovak champion and three- time Cup winner. He played 283 first division matches in which he scored 27 goals. In 1967 he was elected Czechoslovak Footballer of the Year.

From 1977 to 1979 he played for Motorlet Prague and then ended his active career. Later he worked as a youth coach at his former club Dukla Prague.

Between 1964 and 1970, played Geleta 19 times for the Czechoslovak national team, scoring two goals. He took part in the Summer Olympic Games in 1964 partly in Tokyo and won with the Czechoslovak team the silver medal.
