Jan Hatzius

January Hatzius ( * 1968 in Heidelberg ) is a German economist.

January Hatzius attended the University of Wisconsin, at the Institute for World Economics in Kiel and in 1995 at Oxford University with the thesis " Migration and the labor market: the case of Germany" for D.Phil. doctorate. At times, he worked as an associate at the London School of Economics.

Hatzius 1997 went to the U.S. investment bank Goldman Sachs, first to Frankfurt am Main from 1999 in New York City. He was the chief economist for the U.S. in 2005 as the successor to William C. Dudley. He ranks among the most influential people in New York's Wall Street.

Hatzius is married to an American and has three children.
