Jan Koetsier

January Koetsier [ Kutsi ː ɾ ] ( born August 14, 1911 in Amsterdam, † April 28, 2006 in Munich) was a Dutch conductor and composer.

Life

In 1950, Koetsier went as assistant conductor for the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra. January Koetsier wrote chamber music, orchestral and choral works as well as the opera " Frans Hals ". From 1966 to 1976 he was at the University for Music and Theater in Munich, where he headed the conducting class. From the Chamber Choir of the Pestalozzi Gymnasium Munich comes one of the few recordings of his show ( Missa in honorem Sancti Antonii de Padua ). From this impressive work there are only a few shots.

At the University a Jan- Koetsier Foundation was established in 1999, which hosts the International Jan Koetsier Competition among others.

Koetsier lived 40 years ( 1976-2006 ) in rats churches, district Mühldorf. He died at the age of 94 years.
