Jan Kopp

Jan Kopp An ( born July 13, 1971 in Pforzheim ) is a German composer, musicologist and writer. Focus of his artistic work are contemporary compositions. He is a student of Wolfgang Rihm, Helmut Lachenmann and Marco Stroppa. Life

Jan Kopp An was born on 13 July 1971 at Baden, Pforzheim. From 1982, he received private piano lessons, the same year made ​​his first self-taught compositions. While still a student he began in 1987 a preliminary study for composition with Wolfgang Rihm at the Musikhochschule Karlsruhe. After school and civil service in 1991, he studied from 1992 in Heidelberg, German studies, musicology and philosophy.
