Ján Kozák (footballer born 1980)

Ján Kozák ( born April 22, 1980 in Košice ) is a Slovak football player.

Club career

Ján Kozák Mladší began playing football at Lokomotíva Košice, 1996, he transferred to 1 FC Kosice, for whom he debuted in the Corgoň league in 1997. In the season 1999/2000, the midfielder was on loan to the then Belgian first division club KSC Lokeren. In the summer of 2000, the Slovak went to the Czech Gambrinus League and joined Slavia Prague. For Slavia Kozák completed 13 games in two years, then he returned for one season back on loan for 1 FC Kosice.

In mid-2003, he signed a contract with FC Petržalka 1898, with whom he was able to celebrate the Slovakian champions title in 2005. In the season 2005/ 06 Artmedia succeeded in reaching the group stage of the UEFA Champions League, get two hits in the Kozák, both times to 2-2 against FC Porto respectively Rangers. In January 2006, the Slovak was loaned to West Bromwich Albion and came to six inserts in the English Premier League.

For the 2006/07 season he returned to Bratislava and led Artmedia in the 2007/ 08 season as team captain for the league and cup double. In January 2009, he left Artmedia and joined the city rivals ŠK Slovan Bratislava on, with whom he won the title of National Champion in May 2009. Since January 2014 he is the Austrian fifth-tier DSG Union Perg under contract.
