Jan Lindhardt

Jan Holger Lindhardt ( born April 24, 1938 in Copenhagen ) is a Danish theologian and emeritus Evangelical Lutheran bishop. He is the son of theology professor Poul Georg Lindhardt and his wife Gerda Winding and the uncle of actor Thure Lindhardt.

In 1962 he completed his studies in theology at the University of Copenhagen. He wrote many theological books and was from 1970 as professor of theology at Aarhus active. There he was in 1981 ordained Lutheran pastor. Two years later he became a Doctor of Divinity. doctorate. In 1997 he was elected bishop of Roskilde. After reaching the age of 70 years He retired on 1 May 2008 and appointed Peter Fischer -Møller as his successor.

January Holger Lindhardts wife Tine Lindhardt 2012 was elected bishop of Funen.

On 1 January 2004, he was appointed by the Queen of Denmark commander of the Dannebrog.
