Jan Olbrycht

Olbrycht ( born September 21, 1952 in Rybnik ) is a Polish politician of the Civic Platform ( Platforma Obywatelska ) and sociologist.

Life

Olbyrcht studied sociology at the Jagiellonian University and graduated in 1976 with a master's from. Then he taught until 1990 as a lecturer at the University of Silesia, Cieszyn branch. 1984 received his doctorate in sociology Olbrycht and started production in 1985 to work as a lecturer at the Jagiellonian University in which he held until 1989. He was mayor of Cieszyn from 1990 to 1998. In 1998 and 2002 he was Olbrycht Marshal of Silesia and from 2002 to 2004 he was a deputy in the Woiwodschaftssejmik.

Olbrycht since 2004 Member of the European Parliament.
