Jan Peters (footballer)

Wilhelmus Johannes "Jan" Peters ( born August 18, 1954 in Groesbeek, Gelderland) is a former Dutch football player.

Club career

Peters began his career as a professional footballer in 1971 with NEC Nijmegen. In 1977 he moved to AZ Alkmaar. There he became Dutch champion in 1981 and three times Cup winners. In 1982 he was transferred to Italian club Genoa in the Serie A. From there he moved in 1985 for one season at Atalanta. In 1986 he returned to NEC Nijmegen, where in 1988 he finished his professional career. Then he played until the end of his playing career two years for the amateur club De Treffers.

International career

Between 1974 and 1982 he played 31 times for the Netherlands, scoring four goals. At the European Championship 1976 in Yugoslavia he was in the Dutch squad and came in 3rd place match to use.
