Ján Pivarník

Ján Pivarnik ( born November 13, 1947 in Cejkov ) is a former Slovak football player and current football coach.

Playing career

Ján Pivarnik was already 16 years old when he began to play football in the club. But the club of his birthplace Cejkov he left after a short time and played from then on Slavoj Trebišov. The first year of the full-back played yet in the juniors, but since 1965/66, he ran for the first team on in the second Czechoslovak league. There he fell through good performance in such a way that he was nominated for the U18 national team, which played a UEFA tournament in Yugoslavia. There, too, played Pivarnik outstanding, and it was clear that it Slavoj Trebišov would not be able to keep. For the right-back to Spartak Trnava interested, but offered neither release nor earnest money. The VSS Košice both paid and also took care of even that Pivarnik got an education. In Košice, the right-back made ​​mainly because of its speed soon a name. On April 27, 1968 Ján Pivarnik debuted in the 3-2 against Brazil in Bratislava, the Czechoslovak national team. He stood in the 1970 World Cup squad, played in Mexico but not a game.

From 1979 to 1981 Pivarnik worked as player-manager of the Austrian clubs ASV Kittsee and SC Neusiedl am See. In the summer of 1981, he attempted a comeback with the Spanish first division club FC Cadiz, which also Dušan Galis was changed. In the defensive midfield Pivarnik played eight games, but when the FC Cadiz did not follow contract agreements, brought back the competent agency Pragosport both Galis and Pivarnik.

Following his playing career Pivarnik was an assistant coach at Austria Wien and Sporting Lisbon.

As a coach Ján Pivarnik worked mainly in the Middle East, as in Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Oman and the United Arab Emirates. In 2008 he was coach at Al Fahaheel Kuwait in the Kuwaiti Division One.
