Jan Å ejna

January Šejna ( born 2 May 1927 in Radhostice; † August 23, 1997 in New York City ) was a Czechoslovakian Major General.

Šejna was the chief political officer of the Czechoslovak People's Army. After the start of the Prague Spring and corruption charges he fled in February 1968 in the West and his knowledge of the American CIA available. His flight finally accelerated the defeat of its proponent, as General Secretary of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia already deposed President Antonín Novotný.
