Jan Žemlík

January Žemlík (born 9 October 1977 in Pribram ) is a Czech football player.

Club career

Žemlík played in his youth for TJ Nový Jičín, Sokol Žilina, then again in Nový Jičín and finally for Banik Ostrava. He moved in 1995 to Dukla Hranice to there to do his military service. Then, the forward played again for TJ Nový Jičín before he was obliged by the Slovak first division MŠK Žilina in 1998. There, however, he remained only half a year, just like his next stations VP Frýdek- Místek in the second Czech league and Koba Senec in the Slovakian first division.

In the winter of 1999 /00, the attacker moved to Banik Prievidza, after a few weeks but he returned to the Czech Republic and joined the then second division side SK LeRK Prostějov. There, too, they took him only a few months. Shortly after the start of the season 2000/ 01 Žemlík went to Poland to Włókniarz Kietrz. He came back to his home country in 2001 and played briefly for his former youth club Nový Jičín before he signed again with LeRK Prostějov.

The chance to play in the Gambrinus League got the 1.98 meter Žemlík until the age of 24 in April 2002 Chmel Blšany. On his debut, he managed a hit. By the end of the season he met in a total of six games four times. This rate he could not hold in the following season, in 24 games he scored eight goals. For the 2003/04 season, the striker moved to Marila Pribram, had there but because of its sometimes awkward acting style of play especially with the public in a difficult position in October 2004 went Žemlík to Tescoma Zlín, the hit rate remained similar unsatisfactory as before for a striker in his native town Pribram. It agreed with the club's management to terminate the contract at the end of 2006.

Six months without a club, located Žemlík closed in July 2007 at the Scottish second division side FC Dundee. In spring 2008, the Czech played for the Slovakian club MŠK Žilina, before he went to Saigon United for a season in the second Vietnamese league. In the summer of 2009 Žemlík returned to the Czech Republic and joined his former club Nový Jičín.
