Jana Brejchová

Jana Brejchová (born 20 January 1940 in Prague ) is a Czech actress.

Life

Jana Brejchová began as a teenager to participate in Czech films. In the second half of the 1950s she became a star in the Czech cinema. Their advantage was their natural look. In 1958 she married the renowned director Miloš Forman. In the 1960s, they frequent guest in foreign films, including feature films both former German States. For the first time they played at the DEFA in Kurt Maetzig The dream of Captain Loy. In the Federal Republic and two years later Kurt Hoffmann Comedy Gripsholm Castle, where she plays the lead role opposite Walter Giller. In the same year she played again in the GDR, this time in DFF - TV movie The other beside you. Directed by Ulrich Thein, with whom she then lived. Two years later they celebrated their biggest success in the German film with a starring role in The House in the Karpfengasse, for which she has won several awards and in which participated, among others, Edith Schultze- Westrum and Wolfgang Kieling.

1964 Brejchová marries again, this time the well-known actor Vlastimil Brodsky. The marriage ended in divorce in 1980. Both occurred on several occasions, one of them in German productions. Their daughter, Tereza Brodská is also an actress. In 1998, she married a third time, now the actor Jiří Zahajský. Also Janas younger sister Hana Brejchová is a well-known actress.

Brejchová has won many awards. Among the most important prices include the German Film Award in 1965 as Best Actress for The House in the Karpfengasse, two Silver Sail ( princip Vyšší, 1960, Best Actress and Best Young Actress) at the Film Festival of Locarno for the higher principle, in 1968 and 1969, the public prices as most popular actress in the Pilsen film Festival and the 2000 Actor's Mission Award at the Art Film Festival.
