Jane Bell

Florence Isabel "Jane" Bell ( born June 2, 1910 in Toronto, † July 1, 1998 in Fort Myers, Florida) was a Canadian track and field athlete and Olympic champion.

Bell was with Fanny Rosenfeld, Jean Thompson, Ethel Smith, Myrtle Cook and Ethel Catherwood at the Olympic Games in Amsterdam in 1928 which initially ridiculed by the press The Matchless Six. At the end of the games, however, put out that just the six women of the Canadian Olympic team had brought the most medals for their country, even more than the men.

In these Olympics Bell won the gold medal in the 4 x 100 - meter relay along with teammates Fanny Rosenfeld, Ethel Smith and Myrtle Cook in front of the team of Americans ( silver) and the team of Germans ( bronze).
