Janez Polda

Janez Polda ( born April 25, 1924 in Mojstrana, † March 20, 1964 ) was a Yugoslavian ski jumper.

Career

Polda made ​​his international debut with the launch at the Olympic Winter Games in 1948 in St. Moritz. In some of the normal hill he landed after falls on Rank 41 In the Nordic World Ski Championships 1950 in Lake Placid jumped Polda on the 25th place. Two years later at the Olympic Winter Games in Oslo in 1952, he jumped on points with Swiss Andreas Däscher on the 16th Place.

The first Four Hills Tournament in 1953, he played only the events in Austria. In Innsbruck on the Bergiselschanze he landed on a very good eighth. In the Four Hills Tournament 1955/56, Polda jumped again jumping in Innsbruck. As he reached it with the fifth best single result of his tour career, he finished with 210 points Rank 33 overall. With the start of the Olympic Winter Games 1956 in Cortina d' Ampezzo, he ended his active ski jumping career. He jumped on the normal hill on the 24th Place.

Between 1947 and 1956 Polda was seven times Yugoslav champion.
