Janiki Wielkie

Janiki Wielkie ( German Großhans forest, originally Hans forest ) is a village in the Warmia and Masuria in northeastern Poland. The place belongs to Gmina Zalewo in powiat Iławski.

Geography

Janiki Wielkie lies in the moraine landscape of the Upper Lands, about seven kilometers east of Zalewo. Through the village, the road that connects Zalewo about Jaśkowo with the European route 77. On the eastern border of the district is the former Mühlchensee, behind which extends the former mill forest.

History

Hans Walde was founded by the Teutonic Knights in 1308 as hooves interest village. The place name derives from the personal name John, the locator and mayor of Hans forest. Awarded him the Commander of Christburg, Victory Hard by Black Castle, on May 25, 1308 Hands-on for location of the village with 70 hooves to Kulmischem law. In the early modern period the south of the district was spun off as Kleinhans forest. In the 19th century, a rural community and a Gutsbezirk Großhans forest coexisted.

For the 18th and 19th centuries an evangelical church or chapel is in Großhans forest, which was under as a branch church of the parish Jäskendorf. Your church bills for the term 1758-1850 are preserved in the State Archives Olsztyn.

In 1874, a District Hans forest in the district Morag has been established. It consisted of the rural communities Großhans forest, Kleinhans Walde, Small edges and Linkenau and the agricultural estates Großhans Walde, United edges, yards, Kleinhans forest, Plenkitten and Plössen.

In 1893 Großhans Walde connection received on the railway line Elbing - Osterode - Hohenstein. In 1891 was built on the route from both directions at the same time, the tracks finally met in Großhans forest station. On June 17, 1893, embarked in the presence of Baubeamten both railway construction departments and many other people a " golden nail " to celebrate the union of the track. The station building is still present, the railway line was, however, taken in May 1945 by German prisoners of war and spent as reparations to the Soviet Union. The embankment is still visible in the present site.

In 1928, the rural community of small edges and the Gutsbezirk Großhans forest were incorporated into the rural community Großhans forest. The enlarged community Großhans forest was still a member of the District Hans forest. She had in 1933: 358 and in 1939: 340 inhabitants. This situation existed until 1945.

After integration into the Polish state Großhans forest was renamed Janiki Wielkie and slammed the newly Gmina Zalewo. Between 1954 and 1975 formed Janiki Wielkie own Gromada in the powiat Moraski. Since 1975, the city again is part of the gmina Zalewo and is the seat of a Schulz Office to the still Janiki Małe ( Kleinhans forest ) and the now uninhabited Katki (small edge ) belong.
