Janjevo

Janjeva (Serbian Јањево / Janjevo ) is a village with about 500 inhabitants in the eastern part of Kosovo. Janjevo located 20 km east of the capital Pristina and belongs to the municipality Lipjan / Lipljan.

History

The first written mention of Pope Benedict XII. dating from 1303, is Janjeva is mentioned as the center of the Catholic community of St. Nicholas.

Population

In Janjeva mainly living Albanians (80 %), with Janjeva long time as a stronghold of the Croats in Kosovo was.
