Janków Przygodzki

Janków Przygodzki [ jankuf pʂɨɡɔt͡ski ] is a village in the rural community Przygodzice, within the Powiats Ostrowski, Greater Poland Voivodeship, in west-central Poland.

History

During the period of German occupation from 1943 to 1945 was the village Johanneshöh. 1975 to 1998 belonged to the village of Kalisz Voivodeship resolved. Since 1998 Janków Przygodzki belongs to the country town of Przygodzice.

Population

The population of the town was in 2010, 1,707 people.

Pipeline explosion in 2013

On November 14, 2013, during the construction of a high-pressure pipeline a momentous explosion, went up in a consequence of several parts of the village in flames occurred. The explosion at least two people died. Ten more were injured, some seriously by the force of the explosion. The pipeline was modernized at the time of the explosion. The fire reached significant parts of the village and destroyed a large area of ​​the village center. The fire also put the adjacent Szkolna forest on fire.
