Janne Haaland Matláry

Janne Haaland Matlary (* April 27, 1957 ) is a Norwegian political scientist, writer and politician of the Christian People's Party.

Matlary is professor of international politics at the University of Oslo and was Secretary of State from 1997 to 2000 under Foreign Minister Knut Vollebæk. She converted to Catholicism as a young student and is now a profiled Catholic. So she was a consultant of Pope John Paul II and is a member of the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace and the Pontifical Council for the Family.

In 2001 she was accepted as a lady of the Sovereign Order of Malta.
