Japan Ice Hockey League

The Japan Ice Hockey League (Japanese日本 アイス ホッケー リーグ, Nihon Aisuhokkē Rīgu ) is a former professional ice hockey league in Japan. The League was founded in 1966 after it was discharged since the 1930s across the country, the national cup competition All Japan Ice Hockey Championship. Until 1974 there was a league of five teams, then until its dissolution in 2004 of six teams.

Joint record holder of JIHL are the Ōji Eagles and the Seibu Prince Rabbits with 13 titles before Seibu Tetsudo Tokyo ( 10 items) and Iwakura Tomakomai (2 items).

To promote the development of Hockey was founded in Asia Asia League Ice Hockey multinational in 2003 to participate in the teams from Japan, Korea and China. With Golden Amur played 2004/ 05 also a team from Russia in the alih.
