Japan Radio Company

Nihon Musen K. K. (Japanese日本 无线 株式会社, Nihon Musen Kabushiki - gaisha, Eng. Japan Radio Co., Ltd.. , short JRC) is a Japanese publicly traded electronics company.

History

The company was established in December 1915 as dormant company Nihon Musen Denshinki Seizōsho (日本 无线 电信 机 制造,所dt "factory for Japanese wireless telegraphic " ) established for the production of radio telegraph. In February 1920, the reorganization as a corporation Nihon Musen Denshin Denwa (日本 无线 电信 电话, " Japanese, wireless telegraphy and telephony " ) took place. In January 1930, the factory moved to Ōsaki ( today part of Shinagawa, Tokyo ) and in July 1938 after Mitaka, where today is located the main factory. In December 1942, the company adopted its present name.

1939, the company developed the world's first Hohlraummagnetron, 1954 Japan's first weather radar, 1960 the first LORAN receiver transistor- 1990 the world's first GPS receiver for cars.

In August 2009, the headquarters were moved to Suginami.
