Jared Carter

Jared Carter ( born January 10, 1939 in Elwood, Indiana ) is an American poet and editor.

Life

Jared Carter was born in 1939 in Elwood. He studied at Yale University and at Goddard College. After completing his military service, and the trips abroad he settled in 1969 in the capital of Indiana, Indianapolis, down and lives there to this day. Carter worked for many years as an editor and book designer, first for the Bobbs- Merrill Company, and later as an employee of the Hackett Publishing Company.

Carter writes both free verse and poems within the meaning of the New Formalism. Many of his early writings playing on an imaginary fantastic place called " Mississinewa County ", which is to lie on the actually existing Mississinewa River, a tributary of the Wabash River. With the proliferation of the Internet has increasingly Carter published his work online.
