Jarmila Loukotková

Jarmila Loukotková ( born April 14, 1923 in Prague, † October 29, 2007 ibid ) was a Czech Prosaistin and translator.

Life

Loukotková came from the family of Americanists, ethnographers and linguists Čestmír Loukotka, which dealt mainly with the life of Indians. They first went to school in Prague ( High School 1942) and then studied at a private school, the French language, and later German.

After 1943, she accepted a position at the Town Hall in Prague and continued after the war, studying aesthetics and French at the Faculty of Arts of Charles University in Prague continued.

Works

Loukotková initially wrote regularly for various magazines and newspapers, including Svobodné slovo, Práce Květy, Vlasta. In addition to books, she has also written plays and screenplays for the Czechoslovak Television. She was best known, however, as a writer of historical fiction, mostly with antique background.
