Jaroslav Pollák

Jaroslav Pollák ( born July 11, 1947 in Nižný Medzev ) is a former Slovak football player. With Czechoslovakia 1976 European Champions.

Career

Association

Jaroslav Pollák began playing football at VSS Košice, for whom he debuted in 1965 18 -year-old in the 1st Czechoslovak league. The technical excellence and strong running midfielder remained despite several offers to 1977 in Košice, he still had to do his military service, which had been postponed repeatedly because of his law studies.

After two years with Dukla Banská Bystrica Pollák changed in 1979 in the state capital to Sparta Prague. There was Bobby, as Pollák was called because of his playing style and the few hairs on the basis of Bobby Charlton, but only one and a half seasons.

Beginning of 1981, the playmaker Austria Salzburg was committed for which he completed 65 Bundesliga games. 1983 Pollák returned back to Czechoslovakia and joined his old, meanwhile renamed ZŤS Košice and nurmehr second-rate club to. In the summer of 1988 Jaroslav Pollák ended with almost 41 years of his active career.

In the 1st Czechoslovak league Pollák completed 418 games in which he scored 25 goals. His only title win at club level was the victory in the Czechoslovak Cup with Sparta Prague in 1980.

National

In the Czechoslovak national Jaroslav Pollák debuted on 23 June 1968 Czechoslovakia defeated Brazil 3-2 in Bratislava. On 16 June 1971, the Slovak shot 4-0 in Finland his only goal in the dress of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic.

Between 1973 and 1975 he disappeared from the national team, but signed up in time for the 1976 European back.
