Jas Gawronski

Jas Gawronski ( born February 7, 1936 in Vienna ) is an Italian politician.

Gawronski, the son of Jan Gawronski and Luciana Frassati Gawronska put his university degree in law from the University of Rome. From 1959 to 1962 he was a correspondent from Eastern Europe for the daily newspaper Il giorno. After that, he was responsible for the journalistic programs for RAI from Vietnam, India, the United States and Eastern Europe until 1966. For RAI, he was from 1966 to 1977 Correspondent from New York, then in Paris, Moscow and finally to 1981 from Warsaw. From 1985 to 1992 he was responsible for political and scientific programs of the television stations of Fininvest. He was an employee of the newspaper La Stampa, where he is also a member of the Board of Directors in 1989.

Gawronski joined the Partito Repubblicano Italiano in 1981. For this he was sitting in the council of Turin, in the Piedmont Regional Council and from 1981 to 1994 in the European Parliament. After his resignation from the European Parliament, he joined the Forza Italia and was press secretary of Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi. From 1996 to 1999 he was a member of the Senate, from 1999 to 2009 he sat again in the European Parliament.
