Jasenje

Jasenje (Cyrillic: Јасење ) is a village in eastern Serbia. The village name is derived from the Serbian name of Ash ( Jasen ).

Geography and population

The village lies in the Opština Aleksinac in Nišavski okrug in the east to 157 meters above sea level. Jasenje had in the census of 2011 175 inhabitants, while there were 210 in 2002. After the last three population statistics, the population continues to fall.

The population of Jasenje provide 100% Serbian Orthodox Serbs. The village consists of 60 households.

Jasenje is located northwest of the capital town Aleksinac. Near the village, the South Morava flows.

The place is just west Jasenje the neighboring village Deligrad. The neighboring places Lipovac and Praskovče are also not far from Jasenje are located, but in the Opština Ražanj.

In the village there is no Serbian Orthodox Church, but for the banachbarten Deligrad the Serbian Orthodox Church to the Holy Archangels Michael and Gabriel.
