Jay Chou

Jay Chow and Jay Chou (Chinese周杰伦/周杰伦, pinyin Zhou Jielun, born January 18, 1979 in Taipei, Taiwan, Republic of China) is a Taiwanese musician, composer and actor who makes mainly R & B and rap music. He is known for creative combinations of Western and Chinese styles of music. Thus produced Chou rather unusual music that is not very similar to the mainstream pop of Taiwan. Biography

Jay Chou was raised by his mother and was a quiet and shy child. Because he already was very interested in early music, he began playing the piano at age three. At the age of 16, he was already writing songs for the time successful musician.

Making his first appearance in the music business had Chou when he attended with a friend at a talent show. Here he performed as a pianist. Although they ended up far behind the winners, but the producer of the show decided to give Chou because of its impressive complex piano score a chance. Because Jay's appearance does not match the the big stars could not keep up, he first worked as a composer for other artists, including Vivian Hsu and Jacky Wu. Many of these songs were big hits, while the songs were mostly from simpler sound scaffolds.

In 2000 it was decided that Chou under his own name could release an album. His first album, Jay was a great success, although few people had expected, and even in the whole Chinese -speaking countries ( including, for example, the Chinese mainland, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, etc ). When his second album, Fantasy, which contained less experimental but more radio-friendly songs, published, he was already one of the biggest pop stars in the Chinese -speaking world. The CD, with which he was able to celebrate the greatest achievements in the financial and the critics, is his third album, The 8 Dimensions.

2005 Jay played a role in the movie Initial D ( Takumi Fujiwara ), which was based on a Japanese manga. The film was a huge success in Asia with premieres in Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Japan. Also, include other stars like Anne Suzuki, Edison Chen and Anthony Wong to fill.

In 2006, he starred with Gong Li and Chow Yun -Fat in the movie Curse of the Golden Flower by star director Zhang Yimou imperial Prince Jai, which was also a huge success in Asia. In the same year he won the World Music Award.

2007 Chou was with the self- biographical movie Secret his debut as a director, screenwriter and producer, he also played the lead role. The film won several awards and was nominated among other things, on the 27th Hong Kong Film Awards for Best Asian movie.

2009 Sony Pictures was planning for the cinema a remake of the series Green Hornet with Bruce Lee and succeeded the creators, in addition to Cameron Diaz and Christoph Waltz Jay Chou to win for the role of Kato. The film, directed by Michel Gondry came to German cinemas on 13 January 2011.
