Life and career

Cameron Diaz, whose father is from Cuba and their mother had German, English and Native American ancestry, with 16 years left her parents' home. In the following five years, she worked as a model in several countries, including Japan, Australia, Mexico, Morocco and France.

At the age of 21, she went back to California, worked first as a model among other things, continue in a BDSM video and talked for a big part in The Mask (1994 ) before. Without proof of an acting experience, she was, to her surprise lead actress in this film, setting out the role of the stereotypical " pretty blond girl ," played as a female counterpart of Jim Carrey. The box office success brought her other roles in films such as Minnesota or the wedding of my best friend.

After another public success Diaz received a role in the film The Holiday at the side of Jew Law, Kate Winslet and Jack Black. In her next film, Diaz played alongside Ashton Kutcher in What Happens in Vegas. The film received poor reviews, Diaz and Kutcher were each nominated for a Golden Raspberry.

2009 played Diaz in My Sister's a young mother whose child has leukemia. In 2010 she starred in the action-comedy Knight and Day at the side of Tom Cruise.

On 22 June 2009 Cameron Diaz was honored in the category of film with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame ( at 6712 Hollywood Boulevard in front of the Grauman's Egyptian Theatre ).

Meanwhile, Diaz was one of the best-paid actresses in Hollywood. Diaz talked 1990-1995 a relationship with producer Carlos de la Torre. From 1996 to 1998 she was with her colleague Matt Dillon and from 1999 to 2003, fellow actor Jared Leto, also known as the singer of the band 30 Seconds to Mars dating. From summer 2003 to January 2007, Diaz lived with Justin Timberlake. Between July 2010 and September 2011, she and the baseball player Alex Rodriguez were a couple.
